The return of Berghaus Extrem

It’s a dirty job…

I spend most of my working hours writing or talking about the outdoors or sport, so it was a huge pleasure this week to join a few colleagues and field test the new Berghaus #Extrem range in Coire an t-Sneachda in the Am Monadh Ruadh (Cairngorms). I also enjoyed a winter skills refresher with the always excellent Graeme Ettle (in the green jacket below), an outstanding mountain guide and very good company (it was great to have a long overdue chat).

The kit was excellent and probably the best testimonial I can offer is that I barely noticed it all day – I was warm, dry and comfortable throughout, and able to move without restriction during every activity.

The redevelopment of Extrem has been a long project, further complicated and extended by the pandemic, but the results are more than promising, and it was great to hear the Berghaus team speak so eloquently and passionately about the range, and how it was created.

Extrem is due in retail from the autumn, so we won’t have to wait too long for the return of what has been the pinnacle and purest expression of Berghaus since the launch of the iconic Trango jacket in 1986.

Watch this space.

Chris.
