This morning’s hard graft was great fun. I was up at the Port of Sunderland with Steve Cram and the Events of the North team. We set up a media event with Sunderland City Council and some sail trainees who will be tackling the 10K in May as part of their training for the Tall Ships Races, which will visit Sunderland in July. The sun shone, the boat floated and the media were there to capture it all and help us spread the #runwiththetide message.
I joined Steve, a couple of the trainees and a photographer from the Sunderland Echo for a quick trip up the river to take a few snaps with the Wearmouth Bridge (which is on the route of both races) in the background. Then it was back to port for interviews with BBC Look North (North East & Cumbria).
It was all very ship shape.
Chris.
