
What a debut by European Outdoor Week (EOW)! Comprising a series of important industry events that were brought together during the same week, the first EOW proved to be a big success in Riva del Garda in May.

This ambitious concept was developed by the European Outdoor Group in partnership with the Magnet Group, and aimed to reset the trade’s approach to major in-person gatherings. Critical to the success of EOW, or otherwise, was the return of the EOG’s trade show platform, OUTDOOR, held alongside the established Italian event ORBDAYS.
Initial reports from the week have been very encouraging. While getting to and from Riva presented some logistical challenges, the spectacular location itself was very popular, encouraging an atmosphere that recalls the heyday of industry events in Friedrichshafen. Crucially, the sector backed the initiative, with participating companies and visitors showing up from across Europe for each event during the week, which started with the second edition of the Outdoor Impact Summit, was followed by Activation Days, an Outdoor Media Day and the presentation of the new European Outdoor Awards, and concluded with OUTDOOR.

Initial statistics released by the organisers indicate that every element of the week was well supported, and that the returning trade show was busy with the right mix of visitors. Subsequent posts on social media from those who attended EOW have reflected that positivity, and while the EOG and MagNet have already identified improvements for 2027, when the event will run from 8-13 May, the first edition has been widely proclaimed a success.

It was a pleasure and privilege for Right Lines to play a part in the promotion of the concept, and even better to be there as it came to life in, at times, spectacular style. The location really put everyone in the right mind set for what rolled out in Riva, but crucially, our own first hand experience was that each individual event worked very well. After such a positive year one, it’s exciting to think about the future potential of the week, especially with the changes to the dates and schedule that are planned for 2027.
